The PAL Junior Islanders organization would like to congratulate Keith Kinkaid on making his first NHL start for the New Jersey Devils last night!

Kinkaid of Farmingdale, NY was a member of the 2006 Suffolk PAL Juniors squad that took home the Metropolitan Junior Hockey League Championship and reached the semi-finals of the USA Hockey Junior Nationals. From the Juniors, Kinkaid went on to spend time in both the USHL (Des Moines Buccaneers) and NAHL (St. Louis Bandits) before attending Union College for two seasons.

New Jersey signed Keith Kinkaid after his Sophomore season at Union, and he has started at least 40 games in each of his three AHL seasons prior to this year.

Though Kinkaid had come into New Jersey Devils games in relief on three occasions, last night marked his first career NHL start. In the game, Kinkaid stopped 37 of 39 shots and was a key factor in getting the game to a shootout. The Devils eventually dropped the decision 3-2 in the shootout, but Kinkaid's debut was sparkling and we look forward to seeing more of the same from him!
